This virtual space is run by Hugo Moss, an Anglo-Irish screenwriter living in Brazil since 1987. It originated in the late 1990’s when local cable TV was in its heyday and we had a channel of film classics broadcasting upwards of 60, 70 outstanding films every month. At Films.com.br, a guide to the best “5-Star Films” was published each month, an early form of blog, the content of which is now being transferred here.
Although mostly in Portuguese, the list of 5-Star Films itself contains only masterpieces and will be a source of interest and inspiration to filmgoers. Alternatively, you can browse the list at this Amazon store. The section (category) Flying Down To Rio, however, is bilingual, as is the widely read and recommended essay How to Format Your Screenplay.
